Cambridge Union
Великобритания
Добавлен 19 май 2011
The Cambridge Union is the oldest debating society in the world, as well as the largest student society in Cambridge. It remains one of the highest-ranking competitive debating chambers worldwide, and hosts a range of speakers and topical debates each term.
Since 1815 the Union has been committed to the principles of free speech and of fair, open, and honest debate. Founded at a time when the university authorities attempted to restrict these freedoms, the Union remains the centre of controversial and serious debate within the University of Cambridge.
The Union has been discussing, debating, and shaping the issues that matter for the last two hundred years. Understanding how concepts work, challenging ideas, and having a frank discussion is the bedrock upon which our society is founded. It is the responsibility of the Union to ensure that these ideals are protected and nurtured for years to come.

Senator Mary Seery Kearney | This House Regrets the West's Approach to Russia | Cambridge Union
Senator Mary Seery Kearney speaks as the second opposition on the motion at 8:00pm in the Debating Chamber on Thursday 16th May 2024.
For the last decade, our relationship with Russia has been central to foreign policy discourse. With the invasion of Ukraine and wars in Georgia and Chechnya before that, this debate asks whether the last thirty years of Western-Russian relations have been an inevitable path to their current dire state. Could this relationship have been different had Western governments responded more forcefully to early expansionism or by engaging more openly with Russia before its abhorrent military actions?

annoying leftie students need to shut up and let people talk

Also Jews from the diaspora bought up to 9 % of the land. That’s a lot in theory
We became moraly, mentally, and emotionally poorer than our Grandparents. That is regressive not progressive
Bad times produce strong people (while creating huge amounts of suffering, but survival of the fittest rules the day). The strong people left after bad times then create good times (they've survived the bad times and are strong enough, and wise enough having lived through hell on earth, to create a better world). The good times they create then foster generation after generation of weak people (snowflakes, people that don't know the first thing about true adversity because they've never had any in their entire lives) . And weak people create bad times (because they're weak, and scared of just about everything so introduce law after law after law to keep everyone 'safe'). Weak people, do strange and TERRIBLE things in the name of safety while all the while preaching about the glorious new world they're building, which is of course bad times, thus restarting the cycle. Strong people make good worlds. Good worlds create weak people. Weak people create bad worlds. Bad worlds create strong people. And around and around we go. What I'd really lie to know is: How to break that cycle for the betterment of us all?
Today Graham Linehan is "novelty table lamp", while anyone commenting on Willoughby's appearance is dog-faced terf perv.
What more do you want that you can't buy? Why, the future, Mr Gittes. --Chinatown
We have nothing to fear but fear itself. He she or it that gets to the singularity first wins.
Might have been a good idea to ask if any of the students are on an accounting course😂😂😂😂
We are seeing the liberalism and Western Civilization in Gaza. Your western human rights, hypocrisy and lies. Devils literally. Shame .
Midnd blowing and exactly showing the current situation. Natasha, who is a brilliant lady, stating facts. Everybody can check what she said in seconds in google, she was stating facts and laws and not a biased opinion. Yet these idi@t students rather laughing at her and shouting nonesense because they were fed a narrative by the terr@rist propaganda and even refuse to “belive” facts. Good thing that facts and laws are do not need anybody’s beliveing to be true.
What was the date of this appearance?
On a universal scale, this conversation is a trillion years away from preschool.
Today in misogyny by Willoughby Kelly-Jay Keen is mislabeled Poxy Parker & accused of resembling Eva Braun because she can work a microphone @ a Let Women Speak event.

I cannot believe he was in my home town.
CU, your "guest" just compared group photo of Rowling & female co. to NUREMBERG, is this seriously the hate-mongering you wish to be seen supporting?
& now it's Der Telegraph because of their NHS trans reportage, Jonathan seems to have Nazi fetish along with his Rowling obsession.
WHOS PAYING REPARATIONS TO THE NATIVES AMERICANS INDIANS???!!!!
I love that he is just sneaking his way back to all of rorty's positions
Wow... can tell the interviewer doesn't respect Wim and doesn't wanna be there. Her face says it all. Should be embarrassed at such unprofessionalism
Natasha is a great speaker!
PAY ME MY DUE REPARATIONS! - Respect to the proposition, excellent presentation
One thing is for certain: They'll have no excuse or sympathy from anyone but themselves when the same bloodshed they laughed at visits them in their own country, cities and homes. I mean, what hope is there for a generation to learn from history, when they can't even understand the current rule of law?
I think everyone is being too hard on the interviewer and the students. The addiction to distraction is a real disease and must be recognized, Cambridge is no exception. The interviewer should have gone through one of his camps or excursions before doing the interview. The questions the students ask were very lame and superficial. Wim Hof is funny and entertaining and much more intelligent than the Cambridge students. "I'm not a doctor, I'm not a professor, I'm better." That statement is so true, Experience will always Trump knowledge, or academics. Just think about it. You can spend 10 years learning about aerodynamics and theory of flight but just knowing the theory will not enable you to fly an airplane, you must experience it. Great message from Win Hof, share the love.
Total respect Tony, solid player, phenomenal captain for club and country. 🙏🏴
can the dude in red shirt just sit down or dose he has niddles in his ass my god if he would say something then sure but now he is just speaking nonsses
The girl with her climate studies degree is ridiculous. It is not even a real degree.
Wow for once these discussions are going far better than usual. 49:56 aaaaaaand here we go again...
"Never grew-up school bully and JKR puppet Maya Forstater" just some of today's misogynist racist bigoted hate-mongering Cambridge Union are supporting. SHAME. AGAIN. & same again.
This is the same man that got upset after sexually harassing a straight man and accusing him of transphobia for not wanting to kiss him
If I'm ever in a room of posh people and I feel uncomfortable, I'm going to think of this. My dad tells me to genuflect, but there's another dignified way
I really hope he is ok. Its hard to watch him grow old, it seems to have happened so fast.
love MPW but thats one shtty sound cambridge. wake up!
send audiofile, i fix it
Who’s the guy debating at the end? It seems like everybody knew him
I just came across this video. The fact that CAMBRIDGE student actually stood up and claimed to be "suffering," shows just how clueless and entitled these student are. Chances are he was speaking of the fact that they weren't allowed to have their cell phones, while in the debate. Unbelievable!!
1:05:26 this kid has never been to any third world country😂😂😂. Good lord put him in blacklist. He's breaking very definitions of equality, individual and collective rights. People clapping are as morons as him😂😂😂. Imagine trying to teach someone from the country that he's wrong about it😂.
She’s kind of racist, very biased against the west
LOL ! Those two Pseudo Cambridge intellectuals who stood up made a right fool of themselves. I'd like to know where both are now ? Maybe both of them working in the Home Office as Civil Servants that have been in the news recently. Engage brain before opening thy gob.
Sorry for my comment Calvin You’re unfortunately wasting your intellect speaking to kindergarten students.
EXCELLENT PRESENTATION - Great points which highlight why inequality persist to date
People throw the words "shill" and "grifter" around until they have no meaning, but Al Sharpton is the quintessential representation of both.
As a Brit, I have to object with the falsehood given that the UK is a free speech society. When people have actually been arrested for mocking the LGBT flag on Facebook, for saying that trans women are men on Twitter, and even for simply praying silently to themselves on the street with pretty much nobody else around, then we certainly DO NOT live in a free speech society.
I often speed RUclips videos up to save time, but with Ben Shapiro I slow it to 0.75x and then it sounds like the average person 🤣
Is she kiwi?
Great speech and stunning presentation 😉
